Aviva Investors has launched a tokenized share class for its Sterling (GBP) Liquidity Fund on the XRP Ledger, giving investors a blockchain-based way to access shares in the asset manager’s largest fund.
The fund has approximately £22 billion ($29.4 billion) in assets under management. Ripple and Aviva disclosed the launch in a joint announcement on Monday, according to Cointelegraph. Aviva, the investment-management arm of UK insurer Aviva, also committed £50 million to the new tokenized share class.
Aviva expands its tokenized fund offering
The launch is Aviva Investors’ second fund listing on the XRP Ledger. The company previously extended its USD Liquidity Fund to the network in July.
Aviva said approximately £86 million is now invested across its two tokenized share class offerings. The firm described the move as positioning it among Europe’s largest asset management providers of tokenized money market funds.
A tokenized share class represents fund ownership in a digital format recorded on a blockchain. In this case, the underlying product is a sterling liquidity fund, while the new share class is made available through the XRP Ledger. The announcement did not provide further details about eligibility, pricing or the mechanics investors will use to access the shares.
Wider Ripple and Aviva collaboration
The new share class forms part of a broader collaboration between Aviva and Ripple aimed at bringing additional tokenized funds to the XRP Ledger. The initiative reflects the growing use of blockchain networks to represent ownership interests in traditional financial products.
For asset managers, tokenization can provide a digital framework for issuing and tracking fund interests. However, the launch concerns a tokenized share class of an existing fund rather than the creation of a new underlying investment strategy.
The XRP Ledger is one of several blockchain networks used for tokenized real-world assets. Data from RWA.xyz cited in the report ranked it ninth among blockchain networks in this category, with $642 million in total distributed real-world asset value and approximately 2,900 unique holders.
XRP market picture
Moneyiar market data recorded XRP at $1.2991099051 at 22:38 on October 25, 2026, Tehran time. The cryptocurrency was up 0.56% over 24 hours and 0.09% over seven days.
The token’s market performance is separate from the value of the tokenized fund share class. The announcement described the XRP Ledger as the network hosting Aviva’s digital fund interests; it did not state that investors must purchase XRP to invest in the fund.
The development adds another traditional asset-management product to the ledger and extends Aviva’s use of tokenization beyond its earlier USD liquidity fund launch.
