Binance is expanding its traditional-finance offering with physically settled options linked to more than 1,000 US equities, according to CryptoSlate. Eligible users will be able to trade the contracts through Binance. The arrangement separates the trading, order-routing and post-trade functions among three platforms: Binance provides the trading interface, Nest routes orders, and Alpaca handles execution, settlement and custody of the underlying shares. Because the contracts are physically settled, the process involves delivery of the relevant shares rather than settlement solely in cash. The initiative gives eligible Binance users access to equity options through the crypto exchange’s platform while relying on Nest and Alpaca for key market infrastructure. The report did not provide details on the specific equities available, contract terms, fees or the timing of the rollout.
