Bitcoin’s 4chan “prophecy” reaches its predicted bottom date as BTC remains below its peak

A 4chan post that correctly identified Bitcoin’s October 6, 2025 peak also predicted a cycle bottom on October 5, 2026. BTC has reached that date but remains well below its record, while analysts disagree on whether another decline is possible.

Bitcoin’s 4chan “prophecy” reaches its predicted bottom date as BTC remains below its peak

A Bitcoin pattern posted on 4chan in 2023 has reached the second of two dates highlighted by its anonymous author. The post correctly identified October 6, 2025, as the date of Bitcoin’s next market peak; it then projected a cycle low 364 days later, on October 5, 2026.

Bitcoin did reach an all-time high of $126,198.07 on October 6, 2025, according to reporting by Decrypt. The prediction was based on a numerical pattern drawn from earlier market cycles rather than on an economic or technical model.

The pattern behind the prediction

The 4chan post, published on December 12, 2023 by a user identified as SBC7H7La, pointed to two repeated intervals. Previous market lows had been separated from subsequent highs by 1,064 days, while the periods from market highs to lows lasted 364 days. Because the sequence had appeared twice, the poster suggested that it would happen again.

The first part of the forecast appeared to match the market. Bitcoin reached its recorded high just above $126,000 on October 6, 2025. The second date in the proposed cycle was October 5, 2026—the date reached by adding 364 days to that peak.

That does not establish that Bitcoin has reached a lasting cycle bottom. It only means the date in the post has arrived while the cryptocurrency remains well below its record high.

Bitcoin remains far below its record

Bitcoin traded near $86,000 around the predicted bottom date, roughly 32% below its peak. The cryptocurrency had already fallen to about $57,000 around the middle of the year. By late June, it was down 52% from its high, although crypto asset manager 21Shares said the decline was less severe than the losses of more than 80% seen in earlier bear markets.

Benjamin Cowen, an analyst who considers the accumulation phase to have begun on July 1, has warned that Bitcoin could still experience another decline. His view includes a possible fourth-quarter floor near $44,000. The source material also notes that the technical setup appeared more positive, leaving the market outlook unsettled.

Jobs data and the market picture

Bitcoin was reported to be up about 2% on October 5 after data showed the United States added 29,000 jobs in September, compared with economists’ expectation of 90,000. Although weak employment growth can signal economic stress, the report was viewed in the source material as reducing the likelihood of another Federal Reserve interest-rate increase. Risk assets such as Bitcoin can benefit when investors expect rates to remain stable rather than move higher.

Moneyiar market data at 10:34 a.m. on October 7, 2026, showed Bitcoin at $83,734.23, down 2.69% over 24 hours and 0.13% over seven days. Other listed assets were Propy at $0.35665825, down 4.05% in 24 hours; WINkLink at $0.0000513493, down 0.59%; and Infinity Ground at $0.1025293171, down 31.28% over 24 hours. The data is a snapshot and does not confirm whether October 5 marked Bitcoin’s cycle low.
