US spot Bitcoin exchange-traded funds recorded $89.9 million in net outflows on Monday, ending a two-session run of positive flows as Bitcoin fell below $86,000. The withdrawal came shortly before the first anniversary of the cryptocurrency’s $126,080 all-time high, reached on Oct. 6, 2025.
According to Cointelegraph, Bitcoin was trading at $85,559 when the report was published, about 32% below that record. The reversal followed approximately $293 million of combined inflows during the previous two October trading sessions. Total trading volume for the funds over that period reached $2.18 billion, based on SoSoValue data.
Bitcoin ETF flows reverse
Spot Bitcoin ETFs hold Bitcoin directly and allow investors to gain exposure through exchange-traded funds rather than buying and storing the cryptocurrency themselves. Their daily net flow figures measure the difference between money entering and leaving the funds.
Monday’s outflow reduced cumulative net inflows into US spot Bitcoin ETFs to about $57.7 billion, from roughly $61.3 billion since the market’s previous record a year earlier. That represents a 5.8% decline over the period cited in the report.
The flow reversal occurred as Bitcoin remained well below its prior peak. The data point highlights how investor demand for regulated market products can move alongside the underlying cryptocurrency’s price, although a single day of outflows does not establish a longer-term trend.
Ether ETFs extend losing streak
US spot Ether ETFs also faced withdrawals on Monday. The funds posted approximately $51 million in net outflows, extending their run of daily losses to five trading sessions.
Across that five-day period, Ether ETFs lost a combined $206 million. Despite the recent withdrawals, their cumulative net inflows stood at $13.8 billion.
Ether ETFs, like their Bitcoin counterparts, are exchange-traded products designed to provide market exposure through traditional brokerage and exchange infrastructure. The latest figures show that the weakness in ETF flows was not limited to Bitcoin products.
Altcoin funds show mixed picture
Funds linked to other digital assets produced varied results on Monday:
- Solana ETFs recorded $9.3 million in net outflows.
- Zcash ETFs recorded $3.6 million in net outflows.
- XRP ETFs reported no net flow on Monday, after $3.3 million of outflows on Friday.
