US spot Bitcoin exchange-traded funds returned to positive net flows on Tuesday, attracting $119 million even as Bitcoin’s price declined. At the same time, Ether ETFs recorded their sixth consecutive trading session of outflows, with withdrawals accelerating to $202 million.
According to Cointelegraph, the latest Bitcoin ETF inflow reversed a $90 million net outflow recorded on Monday, based on SoSoValue data. The move highlights a divergence between fund flows for the two largest crypto assets: Bitcoin-linked products drew fresh capital, while Ether-linked funds continued to lose money.
Bitcoin funds recover despite price decline
Bitcoin traded above $86,600 at one point on Tuesday before falling below $84,000. The cryptocurrency was priced at $83,971 at the time of Cointelegraph’s report, down 2.1% over the previous 24 hours according to CoinGecko.
The positive ETF flow therefore came as the underlying asset weakened during the session. Spot Bitcoin ETFs hold the cryptocurrency directly and issue exchange-traded shares that give investors exposure to its price through market-based products. Net inflows indicate that more money entered these funds than left them during the trading day.
CryptoQuant contributor MorenoDV said Bitcoin’s recovery was encountering increased profit-taking. The comment referred to Bitcoin trading at a considerable premium to the estimated $68,900 cost basis of active traders. In his view, maintaining the recovery would depend on whether new demand was strong enough to absorb selling from investors taking profits.
Ether outflows reach six sessions
Ether ETFs moved in the opposite direction. They registered $202 million in net outflows on Tuesday, a sharp increase from approximately $51 million on Monday. Across the six-session losing streak, total withdrawals reached about $408 million.
The figures show that the recent pressure on Ether funds has continued for nearly a full week of trading. Unlike the Bitcoin products, Ether ETFs did not see a return to positive flows in the latest session.
Other crypto ETF products produced mixed results. XRP ETFs received $3.1 million, while Solana ETFs saw $3.7 million leave the funds. Zcash ETFs recorded no net flow on Tuesday, after posting outflows in each of the two previous trading sessions.
Moneyiar market picture
Moneyiar data at 10:14 a.m. on Oct. 7, 2026, showed Bitcoin at $83,798.55, down 2.69% over 24 hours but up 0.11% over seven days. Ethereum stood at $2,586.27, falling 4.71% in 24 hours and 3.86% over the week.
Among the other assets tracked by Moneyiar, FUNToken was priced at $0.008169369 at 10:13 a.m., up 1.75% over 24 hours and 15.68% over seven days. Flow traded at $0.0309127229, down 3.16% on the day and 5.98% over seven days.
The difference between fund flows and price performance underlines that ETF demand and daily crypto prices do not always move in the same direction. Bitcoin products recorded net buying during the session even as Bitcoin declined, while Ether funds experienced heavier withdrawals alongside weakness in the broader market.
