Bitcoin traded modestly higher on Tuesday as a strong advance in technology stocks drew investor attention toward artificial intelligence and away from digital assets. The Nasdaq was near its session high, up 1.15%, while Bitcoin rose from below $80,000 to about $80,500, a gain of roughly 0.5% over 24 hours, according to CoinDesk.

AI-led stock rally overshadows crypto

The Nasdaq’s rise came as the artificial-intelligence trade regained momentum for a second consecutive day. Investor interest was supported by Anthropic’s planned initial public offering, with attention also focused on the company’s prospectus showing positive operating cash flow and earnings.

The broader shift in market focus was visible in crypto’s comparatively limited move. Ether and XRP were each gaining close to 1%, while Bitcoin remained only slightly above the $80,000 level. Earlier in the session, Bitcoin had fallen to about $79,750, down 0.6% over 24 hours, before recovering.

The market was also looking ahead to the Federal Reserve’s two-day policy meeting, scheduled to conclude on Wednesday. The source material said markets fully expected the U.S. central bank to leave interest rates unchanged. Government bond yields were slightly higher, with the 10-year Treasury yield up 1.7 basis points at 5.0%.

Oil also retreated after an early advance. West Texas Intermediate crude for December delivery reached $102.56 a barrel before falling 1.8% to just below $100. The contract had touched $103 during the previous week’s rapid climb. The report noted an election in Israel but said there was no specific new Middle East development linked to the oil move.

Robinhood revenue falls just short of forecasts

Robinhood reported third-quarter earnings per share of $0.51, below the $0.55 expected by analysts. Revenue was $1.424 billion, narrowly under the $1.43 billion consensus estimate.

The company’s crypto revenue was stronger than expected at $120 million, compared with forecasts for $114 million. However, that figure was down 55% from $268 million a year earlier, showing the weakness in the crypto portion of the brokerage’s business despite the quarterly beat against estimates.

Total transaction revenue reached $867 million, an increase of 19% from the same period last year. Robinhood shares were down 4.4% in after-hours trading following the release.

The results came after Robinhood shares had risen more than 3% during Tuesday’s regular session, trading around $96. Even after that move, the stock remained down 16% for the year and more than 35% below its record high, which was reached around the time crypto prices peaked in October 2025.

Crypto businesses expand, but profitability remains uneven

SoFi said its cryptocurrency service had reached 503,070 accounts as of Sept. 30, fewer than a year after the company relaunched SoFi Crypto in late 2025. The platform allows customers to buy, sell and hold digital assets alongside traditional banking and investment products.

SoFi recorded $161.6 million in crypto transaction revenue during the quarter, but associated costs were nearly as large at $160 million. Net crypto transaction revenue was therefore $1.63 million. For the first nine months of 2026, net crypto transaction revenue was $3.67 million. SoFi’s total quarterly revenue rose 44% year over year to $1.39 billion, and its shares gained 11% in premarket trading.

Galaxy Digital also reported stronger results, helped in part by Bitcoin’s performance during the quarter. Treasury and corporate profit reached $419 million, compared with a $42 million loss in the previous quarter. The company authorized another $200 million share buyback after completing its prior authorization; it said about 9.8 million shares had been repurchased so far this year.

Galaxy said the second phase of its Helios I data-center project was fully financed, under construction and progressing on schedule. Discussions with potential tenants for the additional 830 megawatts available at Helios II were continuing. Galaxy shares were up 4.5% in premarket trading, although they remained more than 30% lower over the previous month.

China’s stocks post record losing streak

The CSI China 300 Index completed its 12th consecutive weekly decline, its longest losing streak since the index’s creation, according to Barchart. The source material said Beijing had encouraged people for two years to move money from bank deposits into stocks to help finance the country’s artificial-intelligence ambitions.

After the market peaked in the summer, Beijing was reportedly buying shares in an effort to slow the decline, but the intervention had not yet stopped the losing streak.

U.S. economic data provided a mixed but generally firmer backdrop. September new-home sales fell to a seasonally adjusted annual rate of 676,000 from 684,000 in August, but remained above economists’ forecast of 651,000. Consumer confidence unexpectedly rose to 91.7 from 81.9 in September, while forecasts had called for a decline to 81.0.
