Canton Strategic Holdings plans 24-hour tokenized share trading on Nov. 2

Canton Strategic Holdings is preparing to bring its Nasdaq-listed common shares onto the Canton Network, with trading potentially beginning as soon as Nov. 2. The move would allow investors to trade a blockchain-based version of the company’s stock around the clock while retaining the rights attached to conventional shares.

How the tokenized shares would work

The company, which trades on Nasdaq under the ticker CNTN, is partnering with TSV LLC and Fairmint to launch the tokenized securities. TSV operates a venue for tokenized assets, while Fairmint is a transfer agent registered with the US Securities and Exchange Commission.

According to Cointelegraph, the digital shares would represent the same ownership rights as Canton Strategic Holdings’ existing Nasdaq-listed stock. Fairmint would keep the official ownership records and handle compliance with requirements governing the transfer of shares.

Trading would be available 24 hours a day through an automated market maker, a system that uses liquidity pools to facilitate transactions rather than relying solely on a traditional order book. Trades would settle immediately on the Canton Network, in contrast with the delayed settlement processes used in conventional securities markets.

The arrangement is being pursued under the SEC’s September innovation exemption. The companies said the exemption provides a regulatory route for trading tokenized US stocks on domestic platforms. The planned launch remains subject to the timing described in the company’s announcement, with trading expected to start as soon as Nov. 2.

Canton Strategic Holdings’ digital-asset shift

Canton Strategic Holdings was previously known as Tharimmune, a biotechnology company. It changed its strategic focus to digital assets in November 2025 after raising $545 million to build a business around Canton Coin. The company changed its name in February.

It now holds the cryptocurrency, helps operate the Canton Network and invests in projects developed on the blockchain. The company’s relationship with the network does not mean it created the platform: Canton Network was developed by Digital Asset. Canton Strategic Holdings does, however, have links to the Canton Foundation through its investments and participation in network governance.

The proposed stock launch illustrates how a public company can use blockchain infrastructure to create another venue for trading its equity while keeping shareholder rights and formal ownership administration in place.
