Cardano has been added to the official x402 toolkit, giving applications and AI agents tools to make payments using ADA and other tokens on the network, according to CoinDesk. The move places Cardano alongside Solana and the XRP Ledger in efforts to support payments linked to AI agents. The toolkit’s Cardano integration includes a facilitator, but that component has so far been tested only in a pre-production environment. The addition could expand the range of networks available to developers building payment functions for applications and autonomous software, although the current testing status indicates that the Cardano support has not yet been fully validated in production. ADA is the native token associated with the Cardano network.
