Decrypt is partnering with Jupiter to add on-site trading to its media platform, allowing readers to swap supported tokens through Decrypt Money Accounts without leaving the website, connecting an external wallet or transferring funds between products.
The initiative is part of Decrypt’s broader plan to create what it calls The Information Exchange: a platform combining news, real-time intelligence, market data and financial instruments in one experience. According to Decrypt, the integration will begin with a selected group of major cryptocurrencies before expanding to the wider Solana token ecosystem and, later, tokenized stocks, commodities and other real-world assets.
Trading moves into the news experience
The partnership is designed to shorten the distance between reading about an asset and trading it. Users with Decrypt Money Accounts will be able to swap tokens directly from those accounts, rather than moving to a separate exchange or wallet application.
Decrypt co-founder and chief operating officer Ilan Hazan said the company wants readers to be able to act on information within the same environment where they consume it. The stated ambition extends beyond crypto: a future version of the service could allow a reader covering Bitcoin to trade BTC, follow a public company and access its tokenized stock, or monitor a commodity from the same platform.
The first phase will cover a limited selection of major cryptocurrencies. Decrypt said the offering is intended to grow to include the full range of Solana tokens, as well as tokenized financial and real-world assets. Tokenization refers to representing an asset or financial interest digitally on a blockchain, potentially allowing it to be accessed through blockchain-based platforms.
Jupiter is described as Solana’s leading trading platform and an “everything exchange.” Its broader ecosystem includes token swaps, lending, borrowing, perpetual futures and portfolio management. The Decrypt integration initially focuses on trading, but the companies plan to add other Jupiter products as the project develops.
Decrypt builds a single account system
Jupiter-powered trading follows the launch of Decrypt Money Accounts on Solana earlier this month. Decrypt describes the account as a single self-custodial account intended to support its expanding range of financial products.
Self-custody generally means that users retain control of their assets and account credentials rather than placing them entirely with a centralized intermediary. Under Decrypt’s plan, a single U.S.-dollar deposit could eventually be used across several parts of the platform, including trading, prediction markets, yield-earning products and, later, perpetual futures.
The next Jupiter product expected to be added is Earn. Decrypt said this will expand the ways users can manage assets without leaving its site. The company has not provided details in the source material about the specific assets, rates or terms that will be available through Earn.
The planned experience will also connect with Decrypt’s editorial coverage and upcoming Situation Rooms. These are described as dedicated pages combining breaking news, live market data, prices, probabilities and financial instruments around topics of interest to readers.
The Information Exchange expands
Decrypt announced The Information Exchange in September as a proposed model for financial media that combines journalism, intelligence, market information, probabilities and direct participation. The company’s explanation is that information and markets are increasingly connected, while users still typically move among separate news sites, data services, exchanges, wallets and trading applications.
Under the proposed structure, Decrypt would provide its audience, reporting and distribution. Myriad would supply market infrastructure, including prediction markets that the source says have generated more than $600 million in cumulative trading volume. The forthcoming MYR token is described as the economic layer intended to coordinate users, creators, traders and applications across that ecosystem.
The Jupiter partnership adds another set of financial instruments to the planned platform. Decrypt said more products, markets and features are expected to roll out in the weeks before Solana Breakpoint, although the source does not specify individual launch dates or final availability.
