The European Securities and Markets Authority has added nine crypto-asset service providers to its latest Markets in Crypto-Assets Regulation register, taking the number of unique providers listed across the European Union to 375.
The update includes BingX’s Austrian entity, MEGE zweite, and the Italian subsidiary of YouHodler, a crypto-lending platform that offers yield products. Banco Santander’s Openbank Deutschland was also added, alongside several other financial and crypto-related firms. The changes were reported by Cointelegraph.
New names in the MiCA register
YouHodler’s Italian entity is authorized to provide several services under the EU’s crypto framework. These include custody of crypto-assets, crypto-asset exchanges, execution of orders and transfers.
BingX and YouHodler had announced their authorizations the previous week. Daniel Lai, chief executive of BingX EU, said the approval would enable the company to operate within a defined regulatory framework as it prepares to introduce regulated services across the European Economic Area.
The latest additions extend beyond the two crypto-focused companies. Spain’s Prakma Markets, linked to the Goin crypto application, was included in the register. In Germany, the additions included Openbank Deutschland, a subsidiary of Spanish banking group Banco Santander, as well as cooperative lenders VR-Bank Alb-Blau-Donau and VR Bank im südlichen Franken.
Other register changes
The update also highlighted a change involving Denmark’s Penning Financial Services. The firm no longer appeared in the latest register, although it had been included in updates dating back to July 3.
A Penning spokesperson told Cointelegraph that the company’s MiCA authorization remained unchanged and that it had not been informed of any change by Denmark’s financial regulator. Cointelegraph said it had contacted ESMA and Denmark’s Financial Supervisory Authority for clarification, but had not received a response when the report was published.
MiCA is the European Union’s regulatory framework for crypto-asset markets. An ESMA register provides a public record of relevant authorized providers and other categories covered by the framework, helping show which firms are listed within the EU’s regulatory structure.
The e-money token register was unchanged at 50 entries representing 25 unique entities. The asset-referenced token register remained empty, while the register for non-compliant crypto-asset service providers increased by five entries to 178.
