Ether ETF Outflows Reach $1.08 Billion in October

US spot Ether exchange-traded funds have recorded $1.08 billion in net outflows since the beginning of October, making the month the weakest for the products in 2026 so far. The withdrawals come as Ether’s price has fallen and as flows into Bitcoin ETFs have moderated after a strong start to the week.

Ether funds face heavy withdrawals

According to Cointelegraph, data from SoSoValue shows that US spot Ether ETFs registered a further $26 million in net outflows on Tuesday. That brought October’s cumulative withdrawals to $1.08 billion.

The figure is already the largest monthly net outflow for the funds since November 2025, despite eight trading sessions remaining in October. It also reverses the previous month’s performance: Ether ETFs attracted $832 million in net inflows during September.

After October’s withdrawals, cumulative net inflows for the year stand at approximately $485 million. Net inflows measure the money entering the funds minus the money leaving them, and are commonly used to track investor demand for exchange-traded products.

Ether price has also weakened

The ETF outflows have occurred alongside a decline in Ether’s market price. Ether fell 9.7% during October, from $2,700 to $2,438 at the time of the original report. CoinGecko data cited in the report showed that ETH was down nearly 18% across 2026.

The combination of fund withdrawals and a lower token price marks a weaker period for Ether-linked investment products than September, when the ETFs recorded positive net flows. The available data does not establish that one development caused the other.

Bitcoin ETF flows remain positive this month

Bitcoin ETFs presented a different, although more subdued, picture on Tuesday. The funds recorded $23 million in net inflows, following $527 million of inflows on Monday.

Even with those recent additions, US spot Bitcoin ETFs were approximately $67 million in net outflows for October as a whole. Their net inflows for 2026 remained around $809 million, according to SoSoValue.

Bitcoin was priced at $82,954 at the time of the original report. That represented a 2.2% decline since October 1 and a 5.3% fall for the year.
