Ripple expands Brevan Howard relationship with prime brokerage services

Ripple is expanding its relationship with Brevan Howard by providing the investment manager’s funds with prime brokerage, clearing and financing services across traditional and digital asset markets. The arrangement gives the funds access to Ripple Prime, Ripple’s multi-asset institutional services business.

According to Cointelegraph, the expanded agreement was announced Tuesday. It builds on an existing connection between the companies, including Brevan Howard-affiliated funds’ participation in a $500 million investment in Ripple in 2025. That investment valued Ripple at $40 billion.

Services across two market areas

Prime brokerage services can bring together several functions used by investment funds, including trade execution support, clearing, financing and access to market infrastructure. In this case, Ripple Prime will provide those services across both traditional financial markets and digital assets.

The agreement is significant because it links a major alternative investment manager with infrastructure designed to serve institutional activity in digital assets. Brevan Howard manages about $35 billion in assets and serves clients such as sovereign wealth funds, corporate and public pension plans, foundations and endowments.

Brevan Howard Chief Operating Officer Alan McGroarty said the closer connection between digital and traditional markets was increasing demand for institutional-quality digital asset infrastructure and a more seamless investor experience.

Ripple builds out prime brokerage operation

The deal comes as Ripple continues to expand its prime brokerage business. Ripple Prime raised $275 million through a senior note offering in August. The funds were intended to support expansion in prime brokerage, financing and multi-asset clearing.

Ripple launched the business after acquiring prime broker Hidden Road for about $1.25 billion in 2025. The acquisition provided the basis for Ripple Prime’s efforts to offer services spanning multiple asset classes.

For Brevan Howard’s funds, the expanded agreement means the manager can use one provider for services covering both conventional and digital assets, according to the announcement. The source material did not disclose the financial terms of the latest arrangement.
