Samsung is preparing to add USDC transfers to its Samsung Wallet payment app for eligible Galaxy users in the United States during the last week of October, according to Cointelegraph. The service is designed to connect digital-asset transfers with both crypto wallets and bank accounts abroad.
International transfers through Samsung Wallet
Users will be able to send USDC, a stablecoin designed to track the US dollar, to compatible cryptocurrency wallets internationally. They will also be able to transfer funds to eligible bank accounts in more than 60 countries. Recipients of bank transfers can receive the money in their local currency.
The rollout will cover 82 million compatible Galaxy devices in the US, although access will require users to complete identity verification. Samsung did not indicate that the feature would be available to every Galaxy owner; the announcement refers specifically to eligible devices and users.
Samsung said transfers to external crypto wallets will carry no fees. International bank transfers, however, will incur charges. The company did not provide fee amounts in the announcement.
Companies providing the infrastructure
Bastion will supply the stablecoin account and payments infrastructure supporting the feature. Coinbase will act as a sub-custodian through Coinbase Prime Vault, while Solana and Sui have been named as technical partners.
The arrangement places Samsung Wallet at the centre of a service that combines a consumer payments application with blockchain-based transfers. A crypto-wallet transfer keeps the funds within the digital-asset ecosystem, while a bank transfer is intended for recipients who receive money through the traditional banking system and in local currency.
The announcement follows a related development in which a Samsung unit was reported to be exploring stablecoin infrastructure with the operator of Upbit, although the source material provides no further details about that work.
USDC market picture
Moneyiar data at 09:08 on October 8, 2026, showed USDC trading at $0.9998268451. The stablecoin was down 0% over 24 hours and down 0.01% over seven days, according to the same data.
The quoted price is close to the US dollar, consistent with the role of a dollar-referenced stablecoin. Market prices can vary slightly by venue and time; the figures above are the specific Moneyiar readings supplied for this report.
