Securitize has launched a new product that lets eligible investors trade tokenized versions of 12 major U.S. stocks on Solana, beginning with companies including Apple, Microsoft, Nvidia, Tesla and Amazon. The tokens are backed one-to-one by real shares and initially settle using the USDC stablecoin.
A different model for tokenized equities
According to Decrypt, Securitize Stocks will first be available through Securitize’s registered broker-dealer platform. Access is intended for eligible investors in the United States, the European Union and other permitted jurisdictions.
The company says its structure differs from many offshore products that mainly track the price of a stock. Each Securitize Stock represents a security entitlement under the Uniform Commercial Code and is supported by one underlying share.
That arrangement is designed to preserve economic and ownership-related rights connected with the share, including dividends and, where applicable, voting rights. Securitize also said the underlying shares will not be lent out. Where an issuer supports the process, holders will be able to convert their entitlements into registered shares.
The initial group includes widely held names such as Google, Meta, Netflix, Circle, Strategy and Palantir, alongside Apple, Microsoft, Nvidia, Tesla and Amazon. The launch gives crypto-market participants access to onchain representations of established U.S. equities without relying solely on an offshore price-tracking wrapper.
Trading and blockchain infrastructure
At launch, trading liquidity will be provided through an automated market maker on Solana, with Jump Trading acting as market maker. Trading will initially be offered during extended hours, while Securitize plans to move toward continuous, 24-hour trading.
The tokens will settle in USDC, a stablecoin designed to maintain a value linked to the U.S. dollar. Securitize also named Ripple Prime and Aave among the partners involved in making the assets usable in onchain lending and collateral markets.
Securitize Chairman and CEO Carlos Domingo said the company’s goal is to bring equities onchain while retaining ownership features, investor protections and market infrastructure associated with U.S. capital markets.
Part of a wider tokenization race
The launch comes as financial and crypto companies pursue blockchain-based versions of traditional securities. Securitize’s own shares have traded on Solana since its New York Stock Exchange listing in July. Coinbase, the NYSE and an OKX-ICE venture have also moved into the tokenized-stock field.
Securitize said its products are expected to trade on a planned NYSE 24/7 venue and on an OKX-ICE tokenized-securities venue. Neither venue is live yet, so the current rollout depends on Securitize’s own registered platform and Solana-based trading infrastructure.
