Nasdaq-listed Strive has expanded its bitcoin treasury beyond 30,000 BTC after purchasing 3,311 coins last week, according to a Tuesday filing. The company now holds 32,773 bitcoin, valued at about $2.7 billion at current prices, strengthening its position as the fifth-largest publicly traded bitcoin holder.

Strive Moves Up the Bitcoin Treasury Rankings

Strive remains behind Strategy, Twenty One, Metaplanet and MARA in publicly traded bitcoin holdings, based on Bitcoin Treasuries data cited in the report. The purchase marks another step in the company’s push to build its balance sheet around bitcoin, a strategy that has become increasingly common among publicly listed businesses.

The company’s shares, which trade under the ticker ASST, were slightly lower on Tuesday. Even so, Strive has performed strongly over the year, with its stock up close to 60% year to date.

That share-price performance contrasts with the pressure faced by several other major bitcoin treasury companies. The source report said a number of leading treasury stocks have fallen sharply this year after bitcoin suffered a decline. Some companies have responded by selling bitcoin or reconsidering how their treasury models operate.

A Debt-Free Approach to Bitcoin Purchases

Strive launched as an official bitcoin treasury company last year, following the model established by Strategy, the largest corporate bitcoin holder. The two companies have taken different approaches to funding their purchases, however.

Strive Chief Executive Matt Cole has described the company as debt-free, with no margin requirements and no encumbered bitcoin. The source material says Strive has not used debt to acquire the cryptocurrency, distinguishing it from Strategy’s approach.

The basic treasury-company model gives shareholders exposure to a business whose assets include a significant bitcoin position. The intended effect, as described in the report, is to provide investors with the possibility of amplified returns through the company’s stock. That structure also leaves the company and its shareholders exposed to changes in bitcoin’s market value.

Expansion Through Semler Scientific Deal

Strive is based in Dallas, Texas, and was founded by tech entrepreneur and former Ohio gubernatorial candidate Vivek Ramaswamy. In January 2026, it completed an all-stock acquisition of Semler Scientific.

The transaction was described as the first case in which one publicly traded bitcoin treasury company acquired another company of the same type. It added a corporate-expansion element to Strive’s bitcoin strategy as the company continued building its holdings.
