Strive has added 4,045 Bitcoin to its corporate treasury in a purchase worth about $335 million, taking its total holdings to 36,818 BTC and making it the fourth-largest publicly traded corporate Bitcoin holder, according to Cointelegraph.
Purchase lifts Strive above MARA
The company bought the Bitcoin between Oct. 12 and Oct. 16 at an average price of $82,803 per coin, including fees and expenses, according to a filing with the US Securities and Exchange Commission published Monday.
Strive’s Bitcoin reserves are valued at approximately $3 billion based on data from BitcoinTreasuries.net. The company now ranks ahead of MARA Holdings among publicly traded corporate holders. MARA has reportedly been selling part of its reserves: Arkham tracked wallets linked to the Bitcoin miner depositing about $82 million worth of Bitcoin into Binance and Gate in recent days.
The purchase is the latest in a series of sizeable additions by Strive. The company bought 3,311 Bitcoin the previous week, increasing its holdings by 11.2%. Its effective common share count rose by 9.4% over the same period.
Equity financing supports treasury strategy
Strive has continued to fund its Bitcoin purchases through equity-related financing. The company reported about $369 million in proceeds from warrant exercises on Oct. 12 and 13. Those exercises resulted in the issuance of 13.7 million common shares.
Following the issuance, Strive’s effective share count increased 12.4%, while its Bitcoin holdings rose 12.3%. As a result, the amount of Bitcoin per share remained broadly unchanged. This measure is relevant because a larger Bitcoin reserve does not automatically mean that each individual share represents a larger portion of the company’s holdings when the share count is also expanding.
Strive also launched SATS, a preferred-stock issue with a fixed annual dividend of 15%. Subject to board approval, the dividend is scheduled to be paid each business day beginning Nov. 9. The company priced a $630 million offering of the preferred shares last week, with proceeds potentially available for further Bitcoin purchases.
