SUN.io has completed its 52nd consecutive buyback and burn, permanently removing 7,232,977.17 SUN tokens from circulation and taking cumulative burns above 685 million SUN. The latest operation was completed on October 27, according to CryptoSlate, as the TRON-based DeFi platform continued to expand SunSwap’s connections with trading, wallet and cross-chain liquidity services.
SUN burn program passes 685 million tokens
The latest burn brings the total number of SUN tokens retired since the program began on December 15, 2021, to 685,780,165.49. SUN.io values the cumulative amount at more than $11 million and says it represents approximately 3.44% of the token’s total supply.
The buyback associated with the latest cycle covered the period from July 25 to October 25, 2026. Unlike tokens that remain available for trading, burned tokens are sent to an address or mechanism from which they cannot be returned to circulation. In SUN.io’s program, protocol revenue is used to buy SUN before the tokens are permanently removed.
Funding for the buyback came from revenue generated across SUN.io’s three main business areas. The reported contributions to the cumulative burn are:
- SunSwap V2: 388,023,868.41 SUN
- SunPump: 285,879,914.81 SUN
- SunX: 11,876,382.27 SUN
The figures show that the burn reserve is supported by more than one product line. SunSwap V2 is the platform’s decentralized exchange business, while SunPump and SunX are other parts of the SUN.io product suite. The company says revenue from these verticals is directed into the buyback and burn process.
SUN.io has also introduced a public SUN Buyback & Burn dashboard. It brings together the program’s rules, funding sources, cumulative figures and historical transaction records. Transaction hashes for individual operations are available on-chain, allowing users to check the reported activity directly rather than relying only on a company announcement.
The platform said the latest cycle had also secured a further 7.1 million SUN ready for burning. The announcement did not provide a separate completion date for that amount.
SunSwap adds access points across the TRON DeFi ecosystem
The burn program is being pursued alongside an expansion of SunSwap, SUN.io’s flagship decentralized exchange. The platform has completed full technical integrations and established strategic partnerships with Ave.ai, a trading aggregator; TokenPocket, a multi-chain wallet; and Symbiosis, a cross-chain liquidity protocol.
Each connection serves a different route into decentralized trading. Ave.ai can provide an aggregated trading entry point, TokenPocket extends access through a wallet used across multiple chains, and Symbiosis supports cross-chain liquidity routing. Together, SUN.io says the integrations are intended to make token swaps and liquidity services more accessible to participants in the TRON ecosystem.
SunSwap’s reported operating figures indicate a sizeable existing platform. On-chain data cited by SUN.io showed total value locked approaching $645 million across more than 26,800 active liquidity pools as of October 26. Daily on-chain transactions exceeded 14,000, while average daily trading volume remained above $50 million.
The wider SUN.io product group also recorded substantial trading activity in the third quarter of 2026, according to figures attributed to DeFiLlama. Total volume across its products approached $15 billion. Spot decentralized-exchange trading accounted for more than $5 billion, while perpetual-contract volume was close to $9.7 billion. Perpetual volume was reported to be about 25% higher than the approximately $7.75 billion recorded in the second quarter.
SUN.io said it plans to add more third-party integrations and continue developing SunSwap’s liquidity and user experience. The figures cover different parts of the ecosystem, so they should not be treated as a single measure of activity on SunSwap alone.
Incentives and current market picture
The platform’s expansion also coincides with an incentive program in the TRON DeFi market. JustLend, the TRON-based lending platform, joined core TRON projects and Binance Web3 Wallet in July to launch a $4.5 million TRON DeFi Summer campaign. Users supplying liquidity to a dedicated SUN pool on JustLend can receive boosted yields. In Season 3 of the campaign, the SUN pool’s stated annual percentage yields reach as high as 25%.
These yields and the burn mechanism are separate features: the campaign concerns liquidity incentives, while the buyback program uses protocol revenue to purchase and retire SUN. Neither mechanism guarantees a token’s future performance.
Moneyiar market data at 22:38-22:39 on October 25, 2026, showed SUN at $0.0163252667, up 0.06% over 24 hours and down 1.39% over seven days. TRON’s TRX was priced at $0.3299297572, with a 24-hour gain of 0.31% and a seven-day decline of 0.89%. The data also showed Ethereum Name Service at $5.2749448818, down 0.45% in 24 hours and 2.02% over seven days, while Compound stood at $21.1287447338, down 10.42% over 24 hours but up 0.30% over seven days.
SUN.io’s latest move therefore combines two parallel efforts: a continuing, publicly traceable reduction in SUN’s supply and broader distribution for SunSwap through external trading, wallet and liquidity partners. The platform says it will continue routing eligible ecosystem revenue into future burns while expanding its role in TRON-based decentralized finance.
