Real-world asset platform tx has launched USTX, a dollar-denominated stablecoin intended to support its wallet and planned marketplace for tokenized stocks and other blockchain-based assets. According to Cointelegraph, the token is issued by fintech company Brale and can be created using USDC deposited from eight supported blockchain networks.
How USTX works
Users mint USTX by supplying USDC and can redeem the new token for USDC, tx said in an announcement shared with Cointelegraph. The supported deposit networks include Ethereum, Solana and Base.
Tx co-founder and chief legal officer Ashley Ebersole said USTX is not a USDC-backed wrapper or a synthetic version of USDC. Instead, USDC serves as the asset used to create USTX, while the new stablecoin has its own 1:1 reserve arrangement.
Brale is responsible for issuing USTX, managing its reserves and handling the minting and redemption process. Tx said every USTX token is backed by $1 of assets, including cash, bank deposits, government money market funds and short-term US Treasury bills.
A stablecoin is a digital token designed to maintain a stable value against an underlying asset, in this case the US dollar. For a blockchain platform, a native dollar token can provide a common balance for purchasing tokenized assets, settling transactions and posting collateral.
Role in tx’s RWA marketplace
Tx said USTX is designed for its wallet and planned marketplace, where users are expected to interact with tokenized stocks and other real-world assets. Tokenization refers to representing ownership or economic interests in assets as blockchain-based tokens.
The launch reflects a broader model in which blockchain networks and trading platforms introduce their own dollar stablecoins while relying on external providers for issuance and reserve administration. By using USTX as a settlement asset, tx aims to keep transactions involving tokenized assets within its own platform ecosystem.
Eligible users may also receive rewards through programs connected to the tx wallet. The company said the program was structured with legal advice to comply with the GENIUS Act, which prohibits stablecoin issuers from paying holders interest or yield solely for holding, using or retaining a payment stablecoin.
Brale said in June that it was working with Visa on faster and more programmable blockchain-based stablecoin settlement for settings where privacy, compliance and operational control are important.
