Underdog partners with zerohash to add crypto deposits for prediction markets

Underdog is preparing to let eligible users deposit cryptocurrencies and stablecoins directly into its prediction-market accounts through a new partnership with crypto infrastructure provider zerohash, according to Cointelegraph.

Crypto funding option planned for later this year

The new service is expected to launch later in 2026. Once available, eligible Underdog customers will be able to fund their accounts through the company’s app using supported digital assets.

The system is being designed for near-instant transfers at any time of day, allowing users to make deposits around the clock. Underdog has not yet disclosed which cryptocurrencies or stablecoins will be accepted. The company also did not provide clarification to Cointelegraph before publication.

Stablecoins are digital tokens designed to track the value of a reference asset, commonly a fiat currency. In this case, the planned offering will add both crypto assets and stablecoins to Underdog’s existing account-funding choices.

No wallet or network selection required

According to the announcement, users will not have to handle wallet addresses or choose a blockchain network when making a deposit. Those details are intended to be managed within the service, creating a simpler process for customers who may not routinely use crypto wallets.

The digital-asset option will supplement, rather than replace, Underdog’s current funding methods. These include debit and credit cards, Apple Pay and bank transfers.

Underdog operates prediction markets, where users trade contracts linked to the outcome of events. The addition of crypto deposits gives eligible customers another way to move funds into the platform, although the announcement did not state whether the new option would change the markets or contracts available to users.

Underdog’s scale and competitive position

Founded in 2020, Underdog has more than 11 million registered accounts, according to IG Group. In July, IG Group agreed to acquire the company in a deal valued at up to $1.3 billion. The transaction is expected to close in late 2026 or early 2027.

DeFiRate data cited by Cointelegraph showed that Underdog recorded $1.4 billion in trading volume during the 30 days ending Oct. 21. That represented a 133% increase from the preceding period.

Despite that growth, Underdog’s reported volume remained below activity on larger rivals. Kalshi recorded $81.5 billion, while Polymarket’s US and international platforms together recorded $17.2 billion over the comparison period.
