US Spot Bitcoin ETFs Post $110 Million Inflow After $774 Million Outflow

US-listed spot Bitcoin exchange-traded funds returned to positive net flows on Monday, attracting $110 million after investors withdrew $774 million across the previous two trading sessions. The rebound came as Bitcoin prices remained volatile and broader crypto sentiment weakened.

October flows remain negative

According to Cointelegraph, data from SoSoValue showed that Monday’s inflow was not enough to erase the month’s earlier losses. US spot Bitcoin ETFs were still recording approximately $202 million in net outflows for October through Monday.

Spot Bitcoin ETFs hold the cryptocurrency directly and give investors exposure through exchange-traded products. Their daily net flow figures are closely watched because they indicate whether money entering these funds is exceeding withdrawals during a particular session.

The latest figures show a sharp change in direction over only a few trading days: Monday’s $110 million inflow followed $774 million in combined withdrawals from the two preceding sessions. However, the overall monthly balance remained in the red.

Bitcoin and sentiment under pressure

Bitcoin was trading at $79,595 when the report was published and had declined 2.6% over the previous seven days, according to CoinGecko. The move occurred against a backdrop of continued price volatility and weaker market sentiment.

The Crypto Fear & Greed Index fell to 48 from 50 a day earlier. Despite the decline, the index remained in the “Neutral” category. The indicator is used to summarize prevailing sentiment in the crypto market, with changes reflecting shifts in how investors view market conditions.

The ETF rebound therefore took place while Bitcoin was below the level cited in the report and sentiment was easing, rather than during a broad improvement in the indicators included in the source material.

Retail deposits rise while large-holder deposits fall

CryptoQuant data provided another view of investor behavior. Analyst Darkfost wrote on the analytics platform that Bitcoin deposits to Binance from retail investors nearly doubled to $10.8 billion over a 30-day period.

At the same time, deposits from large holders declined to $3.8 billion. Darkfost suggested that smaller investors could be using the recent price rebound as an opportunity to sell. Deposits to an exchange can reflect an intention to trade or sell, although the figures alone do not establish what ultimately happened to the coins.
