A Visa survey suggests that stronger consumer safeguards could significantly increase U.S. interest in using stablecoins for cross-border transfers. In the survey, 36% of respondents said they would be willing to use stablecoins under current conditions. That share rose to 56% when the digital assets were paired with hypothetical bank-level fraud protection and deposit insurance. The findings indicate that concerns around security and consumer protection remain relevant to potential stablecoin users in the United States. The survey focused on willingness to use stablecoins for international transfers and measured how responses changed when protections associated with traditional banking were included. The results do not represent a forecast of adoption, but show how hypothetical safeguards affected respondents’ stated preferences.
