CF Benchmarks brings institutional pricing data onchain for blockchain financial products

CF Benchmarks, whose indices support BlackRock’s bitcoin ETF and CME crypto futures, has launched CFB Oracle to deliver benchmark prices to blockchain applications. The service targets onchain funds, tokenized portfolios and derivatives, with a planned Payward use awaiting U.S. regulatory approval.

CF Benchmarks brings institutional pricing data onchain for blockchain financial products

CF Benchmarks is extending the pricing infrastructure used by major traditional and crypto-market products to blockchain applications, in a move that could support the development of onchain index funds, tokenized portfolios and derivatives.

The company, owned by Kraken parent Payward, has launched CFB Oracle, a service that provides blockchain-based applications with access to its benchmarks for cryptocurrencies, stocks, bonds, commodities and currencies. According to CoinDesk, the service is intended to give developers access to established financial reference prices rather than requiring them to build their own market-data systems.

CF Benchmarks’ indices underpin BlackRock’s bitcoin exchange-traded fund and crypto futures traded by CME Group. The company says its benchmarks are used by products representing more than $120 billion in assets. Making that data available on blockchain networks connects infrastructure already used in conventional financial markets with applications being developed in decentralized finance, or DeFi.

What CFB Oracle provides

Blockchain financial products require dependable reference prices for several basic functions. An onchain fund holding tokenized stocks, for example, needs valuations to calculate the value of its portfolio. A lending platform accepting tokenized bonds as collateral needs prices to determine borrowing limits and identify when a position may need to be liquidated.

CFB Oracle is designed to supply that reference data. Developers can use the benchmarks to create products such as blockchain-based index funds, tokenized investment portfolios and derivatives without having to establish an independent pricing operation for each application.

The service is initially available on Ethereum, HyperEVM and Robinhood Chain, with support for additional compatible networks planned. The source material lists Ethereum at $2,490.55 and Chainlink at $12.64 in the market context surrounding the launch.

CF Benchmarks says the information delivered through CFB Oracle is digitally signed. This allows an application to verify that a price came from CF Benchmarks and has not been modified. The company also says each index is published at the same frequency for all customers, rather than offering faster publication to customers paying for a higher level of access.

Planned use in Payward’s futures offering

The service already has a proposed use within its parent group. Payward plans to use CFB Oracle to provide pricing data for a U.S. perpetual futures product powered by Hyperliquid, whose token is HYPE.

That offering has not yet launched and remains subject to regulatory approval. CFB Oracle itself will not issue funds or execute trades. Its role is narrower: it supplies the reference prices that financial applications can use to value assets, calculate obligations and operate trading or lending mechanisms.

Perpetual futures are derivatives designed to remain open without a conventional expiry date. Their operation depends on pricing references and other mechanisms that help determine the value of positions. In the planned product, CFB Oracle would provide the benchmark data rather than act as the venue where transactions occur.

Competition and Moneyiar market picture

CF Benchmarks enters a market that already includes oracle providers such as Chainlink and Pyth. In blockchain finance, an oracle generally serves as a connection between external market information and smart-contract applications, which cannot independently obtain all offchain data they need.

The launch therefore places established benchmark data in competition with providers already supplying prices to decentralized trading and lending platforms. Its significance will depend on whether developers and financial institutions adopt the service for products involving both cryptoassets and tokenized traditional assets.

Moneyiar market data at the stated times shows the following prices and performance:

  • BAS: $0.0169243841, down 1.24% over 24 hours and 7.19% over seven days, as of October 25, 2026, 22:39 +03:30.
  • Data Network (DATA): $0.1503553856, down 4.42% over 24 hours and 7.71% over seven days, as of October 25, 2026, 22:38 +03:30.
  • Velo (VELO): $0.0038151074, down 0.47% over 24 hours and 6.02% over seven days, as of October 25, 2026, 22:39 +03:30.

CFB Oracle does not itself create an investment product. Instead, it provides a data layer that other developers and financial companies may use when building blockchain-based funds, tokenized assets, lending platforms or derivatives.
