Central-bank decisions, major earnings reports and several crypto-industry deadlines will shape the week beginning Oct. 26, with investors focused less on the rate numbers themselves than on policymakers’ guidance about what comes next.
Central banks take center stage
The Federal Reserve, Bank of Canada, European Central Bank and Bank of Japan are all scheduled to announce policy decisions during the week. According to CoinDesk, market participants are expected to pay particular attention to officials’ comments, including remarks from Fed Chair Kevin Warsh, rather than treating the decisions as standalone events.
The Bank of Canada and Federal Reserve are due to announce their decisions on Oct. 28. The Bank of Canada’s previous rate was 2.25%, while the Federal Reserve’s previous target range was 3.75% to 4.00%. The Fed decision is scheduled for 2 p.m., followed by a press conference at 2:30 p.m.
The European Central Bank will announce its decision on Oct. 29. Its previous deposit rate was 2.50%, and ECB President Christine Lagarde is scheduled to hold a press conference at 9:45 a.m., after the 9:15 a.m. decision.
The Bank of Japan is scheduled to publish its rate decision and Outlook Report on Oct. 30. Its previous rate was 1.25%.
MEXC CEO Vugar Usi Zade said traders were especially interested in any comments from Warsh about the December meeting. The source material says keeping rates unchanged is already reflected in market expectations, meaning a decision to leave rates steady may not, by itself, provide a major positive catalyst for digital assets.
Other economic releases will provide context for monetary-policy decisions. The schedule includes September U.S. durable-goods orders, with a preliminary monthly estimate of 1.5% after 0.0% previously; September new-home sales estimated at 0.65 million, compared with 0.684 million previously; and an advance estimate of third-quarter U.S. annualized GDP growth of 3.2%, versus 2.2% in the prior reading.
The week also includes September U.S. PCE inflation data, with the previous headline reading at 3.4% year over year and core PCE at 3.0%. Initial jobless claims are estimated at 196,000 for the week ending Oct. 24, compared with 194,000 previously. Eurozone third-quarter GDP, unemployment data and the U.S. Employment Cost Index are also due.
Crypto and financial companies report earnings
The earnings calendar brings several companies with direct or significant links to digital assets into focus. Galaxy Digital is scheduled to report before the market opens on Oct. 27, with an earnings estimate of $0.03. Robinhood Markets is due after the close that day, with an estimate of $0.55.
On Oct. 29, Coinbase Global is scheduled to report after the market closes. The listed earnings estimate is negative $0.10. Strategy, also reporting after the close, has an estimate of $8.34.
The broader Wall Street calendar includes PayPal, SoFi Technologies, Intercontinental Exchange, Mastercard and Cboe Global Markets. PayPal and SoFi are scheduled for Oct. 27, with estimates of $1.34 and $0.17 respectively. Intercontinental Exchange and Mastercard are due Oct. 29, with estimates of $1.98 and $5.16. Cboe is scheduled for Oct. 30, with an estimate of $3.42.
These reports matter to crypto-market observers because they offer updates from exchanges, trading platforms, financial infrastructure providers and companies associated with bitcoin exposure. However, the source material does not provide company results or forecasts beyond the listed earnings estimates.
Protocol deadlines and token events
Several blockchain projects have operational or governance milestones scheduled during the week.
- Blast’s standard withdrawal interface closes on Oct. 26. Assets will remain withdrawable through bridge contracts on Ethereum.
- Comments on IRS Notice 2026-62, concerning potentially abusive investment-fund tax strategies in the United States, are due Oct. 28.
- Unichain is targeting Oct. 29 for the transfer of its sequencer operations from Uniswap Labs to the Optimism Foundation through OP Enterprise.
- Balancer’s BIP-928 wind-down timetable calls for pausable pools to become withdrawals-only on Oct. 30, protocol fees to be set to zero where contracts permit and bug-bounty coverage to end.
Governance votes are also pending. ENS DAO is voting on a 201,559 USDC request to fund its meta-governance working group through Term 7, with voting ending Oct. 26. CoW DAO is considering a standing mandate allowing its core team to set and adjust protocol fees within predefined ranges; that vote ends Oct. 28. Space Token is voting on its November 2026 “Coin of the Month,” with voting scheduled to end Nov. 1.
Token supply changes are another item on the calendar. Collector Crypt is scheduled to unlock tokens worth $20.9 million on Oct. 29, equal to 0.6% of its circulating supply. MemeCore is due to unlock 56.11 million tokens on Nov. 1, representing about 2.8% of circulating supply and a stated value of $50.34 million. Binance is scheduled to end spot trading in Epic Chain and QuickSwap on Oct. 27 at 11 p.m.
