Janus Henderson and Centrifuge launch tokenized Nasdaq-100 fund on Stellar

Janus Henderson and blockchain infrastructure provider Centrifuge have launched a tokenized fund designed to track the Nasdaq-100 Index on the Stellar network, opening a blockchain-based route to the benchmark for eligible professional investors outside the United States.

A blockchain-based Nasdaq-100 vehicle

The fund, named JQQQ, uses Centrifuge’s tokenization infrastructure and operates under a licensing agreement for the Nasdaq-100. Rather than giving investors direct ownership of the companies in the index, it offers indirect exposure through a segregated portfolio within a British Virgin Islands investment company.

The product is aimed at eligible non-US professional investors. The Wall Street Journal reported that the minimum investment is $100,000. The source material does not specify a public listing or exchange-traded structure for JQQQ, distinguishing it from more familiar Nasdaq-100 products such as exchange-traded funds.

The Nasdaq-100 tracks major non-financial companies listed on the Nasdaq exchange. Tokenization records ownership or economic interests in an asset through blockchain-based digital representations, potentially allowing investment products to be issued and administered using onchain infrastructure. In this case, the fund’s exposure is linked to the index rather than to direct holdings by each investor.

According to Cointelegraph, the launch broadens Janus Henderson’s institutional onchain business beyond US Treasurys and structured credit. The asset manager said its institutional onchain strategies now exceed $1 billion. The move follows Nasdaq’s April decision to expand licensing of the Nasdaq-100 to additional asset managers, including BlackRock and State Street. Invesco remains a longstanding partner and operates the $499 billion Invesco QQQ Trust exchange-traded fund.

Stellar’s role in tokenized assets

The deal adds another institutional product to Stellar’s expanding tokenization ecosystem. RWA.xyz ranks the Layer-1 blockchain fourth among networks by distributed real-world asset value, with approximately $3.8 billion in tokenized assets. Ethereum, BNB Chain and Solana rank ahead of it on that measure.

Stellar already hosts tokenized products from issuers including Spiko, Franklin Templeton and Ondo. In July, tokenization platform Tradable announced plans to bring as much as $1 billion in private-credit assets to the network, with $500 million expected at launch.

The network is also included in a planned expansion by the Depository Trust & Clearing Corporation. The DTCC said in May that it would connect its tokenization service to Stellar. Those assets are expected to become available in the first half of 2027 and could include US Treasurys, major index ETFs and Russell 1000 stocks.

Current market picture

Moneyiar market data recorded on Oct. 25, 2026, at 22:39 +03:30 shows Stellar’s XLM at $0.1685606444, down 1.14% over 24 hours and 4.54% over seven days. Centrifuge’s CFG was $0.1016866747 at 22:38 +03:30, down 3.05% in 24 hours and 13.45% over seven days.

The source material also said XLM was down about 16% year to date and trading near $0.17 on Tuesday, citing CoinGecko. The launch therefore comes as Stellar’s institutional tokenization footprint expands even as its native token has remained under pressure.
