Investors in President Donald Trump’s $TRUMP memecoin are being offered another opportunity to attend a dinner with him, as the company managing the token advertises a November event for its highest-ranked participants.
The event is scheduled for November 22 at Trump National, the president’s private club in the Washington, D.C., area. The website handling $TRUMP events says the 185 top registered investors will receive invitations. Their VIP ranking, based on engagement with the token, is due to be finalized on November 12.
The dinner is being promoted as the “most exclusive dinner in the world.” Trump is expected to attend, while three additional figures described as “legends” are also being advertised. Their identities have not yet been disclosed.
The organizers have clarified one restriction: attendees will not receive a private meet-and-greet with the president. That condition addresses a complaint raised by some participants at earlier events, when Trump made a brief appearance but investors did not get individual access to him.
A new event for the token’s largest participants
The November gathering will be the third event connected with Trump’s memecoin at which investors have had the prospect of seeing the president. The invitation system is tied to participants’ position on the website’s investor tally rather than simply to ownership of a specified number of tokens. The site shows that leading applicants currently hold hundreds of thousands of $TRUMP coins.
Top invitees are also promised gifts, including a commemorative poster and “TRUMP fragrance.” The event’s promotional material calls it a “gala dinner,” but does not identify the three other advertised guests.
The announcement briefly affected the token’s market price. CoinDesk reported that $TRUMP rose about 10% to $2.25 after the dinner was publicized, before falling back toward levels seen in recent days. That move remains far below the token’s reported all-time high of approximately $74.
According to CoinDesk, the first Trump memecoin event was held at Trump’s Washington-area golf club. Protesters, including Democratic members of Congress, gathered outside and accused the president of corruption while unidentified guests arrived. A related conference for memecoin holders took place at Mar-a-Lago in Florida in April and featured former champion boxer Mike Tyson.
Political criticism and crypto legislation
The events have become part of a wider dispute over the relationship between Trump’s digital-asset interests and his public office. Democratic lawmakers have described the dinners as an improper way of offering political access to people who invest the most money in the token.
The debate has also reached the Senate’s Digital Asset Market Clarity Act, a bill intended to establish a regulatory framework for the crypto market. With Trump’s crypto business in mind, Democratic lawmakers sought provisions limiting the digital-asset connections of senior government officials. Those provisions could not be agreed, and the bill failed to advance last month.
Trump had said he could accept some of the proposed restrictions, including potentially placing his crypto holdings in a blind trust or selling them. The negotiations ultimately collapsed when the broader legislation failed to move forward.
The political controversy comes against a difficult financial backdrop for holders. Since the memecoin was launched in the days before Trump returned to office, investors have lost billions of dollars, according to the source material. The token’s large distance from its reported peak has kept the project at the center of arguments about the overlap between political influence, private financial interests and cryptocurrency promotion.
