Circle integrates USDC and EURC payments into SAP workflows through Tereina

Circle is bringing its USDC and EURC stablecoins into enterprise payment workflows through a partnership with Tereina, a financial services company backed by German software giant SAP. The arrangement is intended to let businesses use the digital currencies from inside the SAP financial applications they already rely on, rather than moving to a separate payment platform.

According to Cointelegraph, the integration will support businesses sending and receiving both stablecoins through SAP’s financial software. USDC will be the preferred option for transactions denominated in US dollars, while EURC will be offered for euro-denominated payments.

Stablecoins move into enterprise software

Stablecoins are digital assets designed to maintain a value linked to a traditional currency. USDC is tied to the US dollar, while EURC is tied to the euro. By making the tokens available within existing financial applications, the partnership aims to connect blockchain-based payments with the software companies use to manage their financial operations.

Tereina supplies payment infrastructure that can be embedded directly into business software. This model allows companies to make payments within their existing systems, without having to switch to an independent financial platform.

Circle and Tereina plan to test the stablecoin integration with customers over the coming months. The planned testing will include global payments and treasury operations, which cover how businesses manage cash and related financial activities.

Potential reach through SAP’s network

The announcement said SAP’s ecosystem generates 84% of global commerce. That figure gives the integration a potentially broad enterprise reach, although the companies’ customer testing is still ahead.

The partnership places Circle’s stablecoins within an established corporate software environment. For businesses already using SAP financial tools, the proposed setup could make access to USDC and EURC part of familiar payment workflows rather than requiring a separate crypto-focused process.

The move follows Circle’s launch of the Arc mainnet less than a month earlier. Arc is a layer-1 blockchain designed for stablecoin payments and financial markets. It uses USDC to pay transaction fees and supports more than 20 fiat-backed stablecoins, including USDC and EURC.
